Fruits of labor...

Photobucket

The photo below of the cheese is not mine as it "went away" before I thought to shoot it. The one above here is all mine, I hope you like it as much as I do. It was taken at Bix down on Gold Alley in Downtown San Francisco. It's a beautiful deco style restaurant where you feel like you are dining with the stars of the 20's, 30's and 40's. Great food, great service (table side tartar!), great Manhattans (with rye whiskey!) and a beautiful mural on the ceiling.  The bathrooms are even memorable. This photo will be one of the photos I'm showing in my collection at my first ever photo show, Sunday Feb 10th at the Rite Spot 6:00 pm. Also showing will be Julie Zielinski and Andrew Schmidt.

Come down for food, drinks, art and fun.

For your own Gouda...

Photobucket

If the moon were made of cheese, I'm pretty sure it would be made of Gouda Saenkanter because it is out of this world. Now that I've got the obligatory Sunday morning dork out out of the way I can get on with the Chee(r)seleading!

The nice cheese lady at Whole Foods suggested this one and I've gnawing on a hunk for the past week. Nutty, butterscotch, salty crystals melt in your mouth deliciousness.   It's a hard cheese and one reviewer is recommending it with an aged Tawny Port.  Sign me up?

I'm hereby recommending you give Saenkanter a whirl.

Fuckin' yum.
